Using the traditional suite of Office gives you the most updated version at the time you downloaded it. If you had downloaded it today, you’d get Office 2016 for example. The issue is that years will go by and eventually you’ll have to upgrade to a more recent software version, like Office 2018, which might net you a large expense to pay. It all ends up being one large investment after another, which makes the subscription-based model more appealing and economically friendly.
